GSS Computer Technology was founded in 1980 as a small local microcomputer repair firm and has grown to a full-service network and computer systems support company serving hundreds of customers in numerous business categories throughout Virginia and West Virginia, East Tennessee and Central North Carolina.  From our offices and support center on Peters Creek Road in Roanoke, we deploy a team of industry-certified computer system specialists led by company President Tim Snyder, who's been with us since our early years.

Our reputation as a full-service computer technology firm has been built on integrity, trust and quality of service, and we have many long-term customer relationships as a result.  We are dedicated to providing excellent service and effective straight-forward communication with our customers.  We serve many industry fields and sizes of companies, and have broad experience in meeting all types of business needs and budgets.   We spend time learning each customer's objectives and requirements, and can offer a range of technology solutions for your particular situation.

We work how you work. Our computer support team of reliable IT professionals is just a visit, call or email away.  Our full-time experienced and industry-certified staff provides customers a personal hands-on approach whether on-site at your business, or by remote support.  Our simple internal mottos are "ready to serve" and "doing it right, right away".  We strive to give our customers the same attention we ourselves would want.  We believe each customer is a business partner and we consider affordable, quality computer support services a mutual goal.


GSS offers several convenient payment options to its clients:
  • Traditional repair and service work sometimes referred to as 'break/fix' is on a time and materials basis; GSS will troubleshoot and quote a price for repair and parts. This form of work is on a first-come first-serve basis or on a best-effort response.
  • For customers who need a more readily-available solution we offer a block-time agreement in which we pre-bill labor and offer a guaranteed response time, with parts or equipment quoted as needed.  This allows customers to have timely service while still achieving regular break/fix support.
  • For some customers a full-service contract is the best solution.  For a monthly fee, GSS will service your network and repair your equipment as needed.  Parts and labor are included in the fixed monthly amount.
  • New installations or upgrades, special projects, and backup & recovery services are quoted up front based on equipment needs and configurations, and labor involved.
  • For consumers and businesses, we also offer no-appointment walk-in equipment drop-off, where we provide service and repairs at our Peters Creek Road location in Roanoke.
